UPS SYSTEMS

A UPS is essentially a battery that provides temporary power when the supply fails. The battery is charged when power is available and discharges via an inverter to provide correct voltage ouput during any supply outages.

Small UPS devices are generally connected to single items to provide operation during short periods of power loss. These units can provide a few hours power for things like electric gates, computers or communication equipment.

Larger UPS devices are designed to run for extended periods such as those we install on generator run construction sites where power generation may not be available for up to sixty hours. These ups units provide essential power for internet connected devices and cctv systems.

GENERATORS

Generators are the fast and simple solution when power fails, portable generators running on petrol or diesel can be connected to a buildings power system restoring normal function to all electrical systems.

Smaller portable generators for the diy market are ussually rated upto 3kva, these will happily power the average house basic electrical needs which would include power for lighting, refrigeration & running a gas central heating system along with computer and the odd television.

Larger generators could provide full usability, if considering fully powering a property you would need availability of larger generator. Most homes are supplied with a fuse limited 80 amp single phase supply, a generator would need to ouput around 20kva to fully deliver all services most home rely upon such as electric showers and cookers not to mention EV chargers. Generators of this size are classed as transportable or fixed backup power.

Installation

Domestic single phase homes & shops can be fitted with a generator transfer inlet usually in under one day. enabling fast safe transfer to external portable generator.

Commercial properties that require a three phase connection can also be prepared for generator connection, or be fitted with a full standby system incorporating a built in generator.

Our comprehensive electrical installations service in the northwest include service and maintenance of backup power systems. Many organisations ranging from care homes to frozen food distributors rely on our power systems, many receiving discounted business insurance against financial losses due to power outages.

METERING

TempElec being electrical installation contractors we often install metering for clients. Metering services include sub mains & distributed landlord supplies.

Its normal to find central metering in sub-lets buildings or local complexes such as re-purposed industrial sites broken down into smaller multi ocupancy business units.

Our services include inline metering where consummers are concerned that supplier billing is in-correct or regular overcharging is taking place. We can supply and install sealed & calibrated inline metering in order to assure initial correct billing is accurate. The installation of inline metering and verification service helps our clients in chargeback situations where over billing takes place.
